mom's wrist

On June 16, my mom fell from a stool she was on while reaching for something and broke two bones on her wrist. She went on June 19 for a follow-up with an orthopedist and recommended surgery. They did try to straighten the bones on the 16th, but they couldn't totally straighten it, thus the surgery. She has another follow-up on Monday to discuss and prep her for surgery. Hopefully she'll get the surgery next week before it's too late. She was told the surgery needs to be done within two weeks after the accident. She has one week left.

Since the accident, I have been taking on my mom's chores. My mom tried to help out since she still has her left arm available. But if I could, then I might as well do it myself. In addition to that, there were additional chores such as taking my dad to work since my mom won't let him drive to Bronx alone, waiting on my mom and taking her where she needs to go. With my mom not working, she whines a lot more now wanting me to stay with her all the time. Which I really can't coz I have other things to do myself.

Fourth of July is my 2nd year anniversary with John. We were hoping we could have a little getaway, but the chances are looking bleak. John has gone down to NY and visit me for the last couple of times we were together. It should have been my turn to go to Boston. I am not sure he could come over to NY. But I hope he could.

I guess I have a whole busy summer ahead of me.
